INTRODUCTION:
PHONELP is a one-handed camera device designed for visually impaired individuals, using tactile feedback to enhance accessibility. Phonepl aims to bridge the gap between touchscreen smartphones and the visually impaired community.
“Although he lacks vision, he does not lack a sensitivity to life.”
—-“The Blind Photograhper”
However
“That is really, really solidified and helpless.”
We need to know what the world looks like to a blind person.
There are many causes and symptoms of vision impairment, which are usually categorized into six main types and varying degrees of visual disabilities, such as color discrimination and visual blurriness. In the following design, we mainly consider people with visual blurriness, visual impairment, and those who are blind.
Problem Statement
“A common situation is whether all people with visual impairments use their phones with one hand.”
“Touch is one of the ways I understand the world, but I can't perceive 2D photos through touch.”
What if a tangible photo people can touch and feel it
“Understanding a new thing through touch is the most direct way to establish an emotional connection.”
"A friendly product carries warmth and quickly bridges the gap between me and the product ”
"The frequency of product use depends on its ability to adapt to different scenarios and environments."
Design Process
Experimental Process
In Photoshop, the principle behind converting a 2D image into a 3D effect using depth mapping and embossing techniques is based on simulating height information from brightness values.
Generate a grayscale image as a depth map: First, convert the 2D image into a grayscale image. Each pixel's brightness value (grayscale value) represents the height information at that point in 3D space. Brighter areas indicate higher points, and darker areas indicate lower points.
Depth mapping: Photoshop creates a depth map by analyzing the brightness values of the grayscale image. A depth map is a bitmap where each pixel value represents the depth of that point in 3D space.
First, change the image's colors to black, white, and gray.
