INTRODUCTION:

The goal is to collaborate with two brands from different domains to design a soft good. After researching the products of both brands, we extracted the design language and technological features of each brand to create two pairs of football shoes under the FG line.

The construction of project models and presentations takes place within a virtual reality (VR) platform. The advantage of VR modeling is the ability to simulate a lifelike experience of users interacting with the 'real' product. The virtual environment offers limitless creative possibilities and a heightened sense of realism.

 

The sketching phase was critical in capturing the fast lines and sleek aesthetic of Mclaren cars. The design draws inspiration from the iconic details of the sports car brand, such as its sharp edges and aerodynamic shape, to create a shoe design that echoes the same sporty and futuristic feel.

Design Language of McLaren 720s

  • The radical shape of the 720S is inspired by the teardrop. Nature’s perfect aerodynamic form. It takes this shape because it helps to deliver superlative performance.

     The headlights that define the face of the McLaren 720S are unmistakable. But their deep-set, sculpted design also features integrated air intakes.

  • At the rear, the 720S is defined by powerful haunches. Always ready to leap. They blend elegantly with the fully integrated rear spoiler. Maintaining the feel of extreme dynamic function and uncluttered, sculpted form.

  • The bodysides are sculpted and muscular. Free from vents, scoops, and details. Shark-like in their fluid simplicity.

The design of soccer shoes can impact athletic performance and influence the risk of injury.

  • Straight-Ahead Running:

    To enhance linear acceleration capability, based on research data, the triangular stud configuration appears to be the optimal design for improving the traction and explosiveness of the shoe sole. The four studs on the inner forefoot area primarily provide traction.

  • 45° left sidestep cutting movements:

    The triangle stud shows good explosive force and provides the ability to change direction quickly.

THE VR PRESENTATION:

is a completely new way of showcasing. Building a creative display space to enhance the immersion and authenticity of the project is a highlight of VR technology. In the presentation, I designed a "product launch showroom" to narrate my design story.
