TIME

Geometric Time is a method of conveying time information to users in a clearer way through geometric faces, with each face representing hours, dates, minutes, and seconds respectively. This design approach can more effectively return to the essence of watches: time is constantly passing.

Brainstorming

What if

there were many ways to record time, observe time, create time, and escape time?

It all begins with an idea.

In today's fast-paced world, most people are distracted by various electronic devices and have lost control over their time. I use geometric shapes in my design to help people focus more easily on each and every moment.

How I Think and Design

I used a 3D printer nozzle with a precision of 0.2 mm to print the model for testing.

The video demonstrates how, after measuring the dimensions of the Apple Watch, the modeled design fits perfectly with the original Apple Watch strap.

Leveraging the DIY characteristics of the Apple Watch, I redesigned two versions of the watch, focusing separately on the strap and the watch body. Considering both charging and wearing convenience, I designed a frame that can be used for wearing the watch as well as serving as a charging support.

Incorporate the idea into the model.

First, I repeatedly measured the dimensions and structure of the watch and found that the accuracy of standard 3D scanning was insufficient for small items. Using calipers for curved surfaces was nearly impossible, but I solved this problem with an eraser.
